In early December each year, the club hosts a “Holiday Exhibition” where the skaters can have fun showing off their best skating to fun holiday music. Each year we have a combination of group numbers, duets, and solos. It’s a great day for skaters and families alike!
This year we are excited to host two performances of the 2012 Holiday Exhibition. They will take place at The Bog on Saturday, December 1st at 11:30 and at Tony Kent Arena on Saturday December 8th at 7:00 pm . This means that our skaters will now have two opportunities to skate their programs for friends and family. You can choose to participate in one or both shows – it’s completely up to you!
Practice Times: For YIC group number, there will be four mandatory practices that will take place at Tony Kent Arena on Sundays at 10:30 am. Practice dates are: 10/28, 11/4, 11/11 and 11/18. For YIC group numbers, you must commit to attending ALL PRACTICES and BOTH SHOWS.
YIC Group Number: applications are due Tuesday, September 25th. Please be sure you can attend all practices and both performances. Don’t forget to include your measurements on the application form.
Solo Eligibility: Members who have passed Freeskate 1 and/or USFS pre-preliminary moves. Due to time constraints, Holiday Exhibition programs should not exceed 1 minute 30 seconds for Pre-Juvenile and below, 2.00 for Juvenile and above. Skaters below Freeskate1 are encouraged to participate in a duet or trio.
October 20th ~ Solo/Duet/Trio application deadline: Please have your show application in by the 10/20 deadline as space is VERY limited for the 12/1 Bog/Kingston show.
Music: Songs are reserved in the order that they are received.
Additional Numbers: We want to make sure that all interested skaters have an opportunity to participate. Those who wish to perform in both a solo and a duet/trio will need to have their second number wait listed until after the 10/20 show application deadline.
Ticket Assessment: This year, each skater who participates in the holiday exhibition is responsible for the sale of 5 tickets or $30. Please return your ticket assessment fee along with your completed show application. We will be distributing tickets in mid-November. You are only assessed for 5 tickets regardless of the number of shows or programs skated. Additional tickets for each show may also be purchased in advance or at the door. Order forms for discounted advance purchase tickets will be posted on the club website in mid-October.
